Patrick Garratt promoted to Eurogamer publisher

Brighton, England, April 2, 2007: Eurogamer Network's Business Development Manager has been promoted to the role of Publisher with immediate effect, marking the beginning of a major push into the consumer space. The change comes as the company gears up for the imminent launch of community website Eurogamers and a French edition of Eurogamer.

Patrick will head up Eurogamer Network's consumer editorial operation, taking responsibility for overall traffic growth, partnership development and editorial management.

"I'm extremely pleased with the prospect of taking on this new challenge," said Eurogamer Publisher Patrick Garratt. "Eurogamer's consumer business is already hugely successful, but the potential as we fully move into Europe - building on the achievements in Germany with Eurogamer.de - is incredible. Adding the Eurogamers community offering into what is already a superb consumer portfolio will lift Eurogamer and its European partner sites to an entirely new level.

"Eurogamer Network's dedication to product quality, to hiring the best staff available and to delivering unfailing commitment to both its sites and users will always ensure thought-leadership in a market generally filled with dross. I have absolute faith in our sites, our editorial staff, our European partners, our technical team and our strategic management to take Eurogamer's consumer business to a position of clear market leadership in the European space."

"I'm delighted that Patrick has taken on this role." said Eurogamer Network's Managing Director, Rupert Loman. "He has a huge amount of editorial experience which will benefit the sites and the team and allow us to make the most of the fantastic opportunity ahead of us".

Patrick can be reached at patrick@eurogamer.net, or on +44 (0)790 383 1070.
