THQ, Glu Mobile, and Advanced Mobile Applications now publishing in Asian market

After just three months the OpenFeint powered gaming platform, The9 Game Zone, has published 60 games across 30 of China's app stores.

Western developers THQ, Glu Mobile, and Advanced Mobile Applications are all working with the network, a collaboration between open feint and Shanghai based The9, to distribute their games to a Chinese audience.

"The9 is an outstanding partner for game developers looking to enter the China market. With a presence in 30 app stores and a China-specific social network powered by OpenFeint, The9 Game Zone is a great platform to launch a game in China,” said AMA CEO Christian Guillemot.

The OpenFeint and The9 partnership also revealed more details of its Android Porting initiative, which funds selected developers in porting successful iOS games to Android. Those games are then localised for the Chinese market by The9.

Games selected included BulkyPix's Pix'n Love Rush and Babel Rising, and Deullo Games iSlash.

"We’re excited to work with The9 to bring two great iOS titles to Android in China. With over 60 live games already, The9 Game Zone is a proven launching pad for Western Game developers,” said BulkyPix CEO Olivier Pierre.

“With The9 Game Zone, game developers gain access to our strong China distribution network. We have strong marketing relationships with China’s three largest telecommunication service carriers, major handset manufacturers, and major third-party app distribution stores,” said Mr. Chris Shen, The9’s Vice President. “We are excited to work with these leading international game developers to introduce games to China.”
