As sales of hit PC and Xbox 360 title Oblivion hit the 3 million mark, Bethesda Software has announced that the first expansion pack for the game will be released this spring.

The PC version of the add-on will be available in shops, while the Xbox 360 version will go on sale exclusively through Xbox Live.

The expansion is said to offer more than 30 hours of gameplay and allows players to explore the realm of Sheogorath, otherwise known as the Daedric Prince of Madness. It features more than a dozen new creatures along with new items, ingredients and spells.

"The enthusiastic response we've received to our downloadable content has been overwhelming, and we're excited to bring Oblivion fans a full expansion," said Bethesda president Vlatko Andonov.

"The world weâve created for Shivering Isles is unlike anything you've seen or played in Oblivion and we can't wait for folks to play it."
