No new DS colours for Europe

Nintendo UK has told our sister site, <i>Eurogamer.net</i>, that there are no plans to release any new DS Lite colours in Europe at present.

Nintendo UK has told our sister site, Eurogamer.net, that there are no plans to release any new DS Lite colours in Europe at present.

That's despite the fact it's just been announced that two new colours are set to go on sale in Japan - Metallic Rose and Gloss Silver. Both versions will be available from June 23 onwards.

Nintendo has also announced new figures for its Wi-Fi Connection service, revealing that more than five million people around the globe have been playing DS online.

More than 200 million gameplay sessions have been racked up, with Animal Crossing: Wild World proving most popular - followed by Mario Kart DS, Metroid Prime: Hunters and Pokîmons Diamond and Pearl.
