Nintendo to be "anchor exhibitor" at E for All

IDG has announced that Nintendo of America has signed on as an anchor exhibitor for the Entertainment for All Expo set to take place in LA this October.

IDG has announced that Nintendo of America has signed on as an anchor exhibitor for the Entertainment for All Expo set to take place in LA this October.

As announced back in January, E for All is a new consumer event endorsed by the Entertainment Software Association. Along with product showcases, the event will feature games tournaments, a job fair and concerts.

"The E for All Expo supports Nintendo's mission to reach as many types of consumers as possible to expand the world of video games to new audiences," said George Harrison, senior VP of marketing at NoA.

"Our Wii and Nintendo DS systems are all about gaming for the masses, and the E for All Expo will give consumers a chance to try out the hottest new Nintendo videogames."

According to IDG vice president Mary Dolaher, Nintendo's early sign-up for the event "demonstrates the importance of a broad consumer-focused event for this industry".

"E for All has been shaped from the ground up with all gamers in mind, and Nintendo has proven its commitment to embracing the spectrum of gamers, as we've seen with their launch of the Wii."

IDG also announced that Don James, executive VP of operations at NoA, has agreed to serve on the event's exhibitor advisory board. "I couldn't ask for a more universally respected colleague in this new venture," said Dolaher.

E for All will take place at the LA Convention Center between October 18 - 21.
