Nintendo Switch reaches four million sold in Japan - report
Famitsu numbers put Nintendo's console two weeks behind the Wii in hitting the milestone
The Nintendo Switch has now sold four million units in Japan, according to the latest data from Famitsu.
Famitsu's sales tracker recorded 52,000 Switch units sold in Japan last week, which was enough to push Nintendo's console past the four million mark.
As Siliconera notes, the Switch needed two more weeks than the Wii to hit four million. Nintendo's disruptive, motion-controlled system reached that milestone after 54 weeks on the Japanese market, versus 56 weeks for the Switch.
The last official figures released by Nintendo confirmed 14.86 million units sold-in, as of January 31 this year. That figure is already higher than the Wii U's entire lifetime total.
Nintendo has set a target of 39 million sales by the start of April 2019.
