New online sessions added to Develop conference

Develop Online will focus on the challenges and solutions facing online game developers

Tandem Events has announced Develop Online, a one day ten-session programme on the topic of online gaming, taking place on 29 July at the Develop Conference and Expo in Brighton.

Speakers at the event will talk about the challenges and solutions facing online game developers worldwide.

"Online gaming is booming in Europe. Wildly successful pioneers like Jagex, CCP and DICE are giants on the international stage, while Brighton is becoming a hub for massively-multiplayer online gaming thanks to inward investment from overseas players like NCSoft and Linden Labs," said Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events.

"Sony is developing PlayStation Home in London while, with the likes of APB, Little Big Planet and Burnout Paradise, ever-inventive European developers are finding new ways to add an online dimension to traditional games."

"The creation of Develop Online recognises the increasing importance of the online gaming sector and addresses the technical issues currently faced by online developers, giving a unique opportunity for European developers to come together to share their insights for a day," he added.

Speakers added to the event include Randall Price of Areanet, CCP's Moussa Khan, Jim Purbrick from Linden Lab and Jagex's Imre Jele.

The GamesIndustry.biz announced today a partnership with the Develop conference that will see the GamesIndustry.biz Network used as a tool for the event.
