New developer and publisher New Tales forms

Blizzard veterans to focus both on creating their own IP and providing publishing services

New developer and publisher New Tales has announced its launch.

The Paris-based company will be headed by president and CEO Cédric Maréchal, a game industry veteran who has previously worked at Activision Blizzard, Vivendi Games and Sega.

New Tales is to focus on creating its own IP and provide publishing services to third-party studios.

The team comprises other Activision Blizzard and Videndi alumni, including Benoit Dufour as COO, chief growth officer Delphine Le Corre, and chief content officer Emmanuel Obert.

The team will be "supported by three senior advisers of game development," the announcement said, namely Kim Gresko (formerly at LucasArts and Blue Silver Studios), Ray Gresko (also former Blizzard and Blue Silver Studios), and Julia Humphreys (previously at Blizzard and Seven Studios).

Maréchal commented: "We have formed a team of passionate gamers with an unrivalled degree of experience, having grown some of the biggest IPs and player communities. Gaming has rarely seen such an exciting time, fuelled by tons of innovation and creativity. However, the frequency of new releases keeps rising rapidly, reinforcing the need for great international publishing.

"New Tales is a one-stop-shop publishing solution where we're going to work with developers, as one united team, dedicated to maximising success. We are also building our internal production capabilities to develop our own games and IPs. We are looking forward to joining forces with people who share our values and passion!"
