NetEase revenue reached $13.7bn during the year of 2021

Online game service earnings hit $9.8bn as Naraka: Bladepoint and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened joined firm's offerings

In its 2021 fiscal year financial report, Chinese gaming firm NetEase saw continued growth across its business operations, especially with its online game services.

The publisher reported that net sales for the 12-month period reached $13.7 billion, up 21.24% year-over-year.

Profit rose 21.6% to $7.3 billion for the year of 2021, compared to 2020's $6 billion.

The report went on to note that revenue from the company's online game services for the period reached $9.8 billion, up 18% year-over-year.

Mobile games made up an estimated 70% of the publisher's 2021 online game earnings.

The company also attributed the increases to its online game services' profits to the releases of titles such as Naraka: Bladepoint and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.

The financial report also included NetEase's Q4 performances as well.

Net revenues during the quarter was up 23% year-over-year to a total $3.8 billion.

Online game services earnings hit US$2.7 billion, which represented a growth of 30% when compared to the same period in 2020.

"While our flagship titles remain strong, we also introduced a number of highly successful games, including Naraka: Bladepoint and Harry Potter: Magic Awakened," said NetEase CEO and director William Ding.

"These new titles further strengthen our portfolio and demonstrate our ability to develop world-class IP. For 2022, we are very excited to introduce more new games to broader demographics, paving the way for solid growth."
