NaturalMotion to open new London studio

Backbreaker developer establishes studio to concentrate on mobile projects

Developer NaturalMotion will be opening a London studio focused on developing new IP and working on the company's forthcoming iPhone and Android titles.

The company already has a studio in Oxford, which helped to develop the successful mobile titles Backbreaker and Jenga, as well as a further studio in San Francisco. Alongside its mobile titles, NaturalMotion also develops middleware such as the Euphoria Engine, which Rockstar has used to power the facial animations of its games Grand Theft Auto IV and Red Dead Redemption.

"Our talented team in Oxford has already had great success with Backbreaker and Jenga but with the studio now working on more projects at full capacity, this is an ideal opportunity to tap into the pool of creative development talent available in London", said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion.

"We've been thrilled with the quality of our initial key hires, and are looking to recruit for multiple additional roles, including development, art and design."

Natural Motion took over its own publishing duties last year by founding a publishing arm, which published both Backbreaker 2 and Jenga.
