Namco pull Splatterhouse from Bottlerocket - rumour

Publisher brings horror project in-house, leaving fate of studio in doubt

Namco has reportedly pulled the Splatterhouse project from developer Bottlerocket and given it to its in-house Afro Samurai team.

Sources close to the company have said that Namco repossessed all dev kits and assets associated with the game, leaving Bottlerocket in the unfortunate position of having no other projects to work on, according to Kotaku.

Reasons behind Namco's decision to pull the nearly completed title remain unclear, as rumours circulate that Bottlerocket gave employees their final pay cheque last week and the studio has only three months before it permanently closes its doors.

GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Bottlerocket for clarification.
