Minecraft team reveals new project

Competitive online card game due from million-selling indie studio

Minecraft developer Mojang Specifications has announced details on its second game - digital card/boardgame Scrolls.

The project is headed up by Mojang's Jakob Porser rather than Minecraft creator Markus Persson, while Penny Arcade writer Jerry Holkins has been brought in to pen the game's story.

Scrolls is due for PC and Mac, with other platforms possible down the line. The game is primarily an online competitive title, with Mojang currently approaching possible sponsors for global championships.

A closed alpha of the game is due later this year. More details are available on the official site.
