Microsoft sees Xbox controller shortages

Platform holder says it has been impacted by "supply disruptions" as players in Europe report pads out of stock

Microsoft has been seeing shortages for its official Xbox controllers, the company has confirmed to VGC.

"We know it may be hard finding Xbox Wireless Controllers right now due to supply disruptions," a spokesperson told the site. "We're working as fast as possible with our manufacturing and retail partners to improve this. Please check with your local retailer for availability."

VGC inquired about controller shortages after noticing versions of the controller were largely sold out across major UK retailers and the official Microsoft store.

The site also noted a Resetera forum thread where posters reported shortages in Australia, France, the Netherlands and Germany.

Last week, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart told investors that the company continues to face supply chain issues that could last through the rest of the year, although he was not specifically talking about accessory shortages.
