Microsoft quiet on Euro 360 price cut

Microsoft UK is remaining tight-lipped about any plans to cut the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe, despite USD 50 being cut from the console's RRP in North America.

Microsoft UK is remaining tight-lipped about any plans to cut the price of the Xbox 360 in Europe, despite USD 50 being cut from the console's RRP in North America.

A spokesperson for the company would only offer, "This announcement was specifically around pricing in the US. We have not announced any pricing changes in Europe," to GamesIndustry.biz when asked about possible price cuts this morning.

All eyes will now be on the Game Convention in Leipzig later this month to see if Microsoft uses the event to announce new strategies for the European markets.

Consumers in the US can take advantage of the price cut from tomorrow (August 8), where all three models of Xbox 360 — Core, Premium and Elite — have been reduced in price.
