Former Marks & Spencer exec joins GAME as CMO
Dave Hughes takes head marketing job at retailer
Dave Hughes has joined GAME as the company's chief marketing officer, leaving a role in charge of Marks and Spencer's M&S Direct initiative to take the post.
Hughes has held several other executive marketing roles outside the industry, at companies including KPMG and Sainsburys. He'll take charge of GAME's online and multi channel marketing and report directly to CEO Ian Shepherd.
"I am delighted to welcome Dave to GAME. He brings passion, energy and a wealth of multichannel experience which will add tremendously to our business. GAME is evolving fast, and I have created the CMO role to ensure that we continue to meet the expanding needs of our customers in every sales channel," said Shepherd.
GAME is currently part way through a plan to close 85 of its 635 high street stores by 2013 in the face of difficult market conditions which saw Christmas revenues dropping in 2010's holiday season.
