Macrovision has announced the provision of its complete digital distribution solution for Yahoo! Europe, providing and managing downloadable core and causal games across five European sites.

The Yahoo! Games channel for Germany, Spain, France, Italy and The UK and Ireland will benefit from the re-launch of downloadable games content, wholly distributed and managed by Macrovision's Trymedia division.

Jules Robinson, head of business development at Yahoo! Europe stated: "In selecting Macrovision, Yahoo! Europe has upgraded to a solution that will allow us to improve on our ability to merchandise new game content, create special and targeted promotions and effectively communicate with our gamer customers."

"Macrovision is a one-stop solution, making it very easy for Yahoo! Europe to offer try-before-you-buy PC games to consumers," Robinson added.

As part of the roll-out, Macrovision has implemented a new storefront design and shopping cart feature, localised in French, Spanish, Italian, German and English. The store front has been designed to support multiple payment methods, including all local currencies, PayPal, gift certificates and vouchers, major credit cards and bank transfers.

Fred Amoroso, CEO of Macrovision, added: "As the world's largest distribution network for downloadable games, Macrovision offers games that appeal to each Yahoo! user's unique tastes, greatly enhancing their entertainment experience."

Macrovision recently acquired Trymedia Systems, forming a new games division within the company in order to provide a secure digital distribution network for PC games. The company's technology solutions provide game publishers, portals and retailers with content protection, eCommerce and distribution services to maximize their PC game sales.
