Mac App Store Launch

10 titles ready for single-mouse-button action.

DALLAS (January 6, 2011) – MumboJumbo, leading developer of casual games, has readied 10 titles for release on Apple’s new Mac App Store.  The much-anticipated Mac App Store will open on January 6 and will allow Mac OS X Snow Leopard ® users in 90 countries to access a variety of apps, including games.

“We have a great line-up of content prepared for the launch of the Mac App Store,” said Mark Cottam, CEO of MumboJumbo.  “We’ve prepped 10 titles that offer a great variety of premium casual content to Mac users and are very excited that our games will be available from the Mac App store on the launch day.”

The line-up of titles includes Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials, Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials Collector’s Edition, Samantha Swift and the Fountains of Fate, Samantha Swift and the Fountain of Fate Collector’s Edition, Unlikely Suspects, Chainz Galaxy, LUXOR Quest for the Afterlife, Discovery!, Mad Caps, and Twisty Tracks.

“As original pioneers of Mac OS gaming with MacPlay, we are extremely excited to make our new games, as well as our catalog of games for Mac OS from the past 20 years, available directly to our customers on Apple's world-leading digital distribution platform,” said Cottam.  “Our games span everything from mystery-adventure to innovative matching games to strategy puzzle games—there’s something for everyone.

MumboJumbo currently has eight games for iOS available through the App Store, ranging in price from $2.99 to $9.99.  The company plans to launch new titles for iOS and Mac OS, and to re-release more catalog classics on the new Mac App Store throughout the year.

MumboJumbo’s history with Apple products dates back to the early 1990s, when sister company, MacPlay, published games for the Apple Macintosh. MacPlay was responsible for publishing classic family games such as Bejeweled, LUXOR, and Super Collapse! on the Apple Macintosh.

The Mac App Store is the latest innovation from Apple.  The iPad, which debuted on April 3, 2010, is estimated by eMarketer to more than double sales to 19.4 million units next year.   MumboJumbo participated in the launch of the iPad with 7 Wonders HD, a rune-matching addictive puzzle game.
