London MCM Expo 2009
Cosplay world record retained; Cologne challenge thwarted.
Europe's largest gaming event Gamescom held at Cologne at the weekend attempted to break to world record currently held by London MCM Expo the UK's largest show.
With the vast numbers attending Gamescon it was widely viewed by many that it was a forgone conclusion that the record would be smashed. Unfortunately with the strict Guinness rules relating to qualifying costumes it proved an up hill battle. The final tally was 311, so the current record set at London MCM Expo May 23rd 2009 stands at 376.
Bryan Cooney of MCM Expo said "We are expecting a huge increase in gamers at October's MCM Expo and are planning to push the record even higher, we have cosplayers from around the world attending and they are eager to raise the record even higher."
