Kaz Hirai named head of new Sony group
In addition to his duties as CEO of SCE, Hirai now oversees the Walkman and VAIO businesses
SCE president and CEO, Kaz Hirai, has also been named EVP of Sony Corporation and president of the Networked Products & Services Group.
As part of today's earlier reshuffling of senior staff, the electronics giant revealed that in addition to his duties as CEO of SCE, Hirai will now lead the department which includes Sony's VAIO and Walkman businesses.
"The mandate of the group is to maximise the potential and pace of Sony's innovation and to enhance profitability in networked products and services," the company explained in a statement.
