KamaGames to add 100 jobs
Irish mobile developer receives government support to expand workforce over next three years
KamaGames is staffing up with a little help from the Irish government. The Dublin-based mobile developer behind Manchester United Social Casino today announced that it plans to add up to 50 new jobs in the next year, and 100 over the next three years, with support from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and IDA Ireland.
The new jobs will cover developers, as well as positions in marketing, finance, human relations, and business development. KamaGames also characterized it as "the first stage of a much larger hiring plan."
"We selected Ireland for our headquarters for a number reasons: Its pro-business environment, robust post-secondary educational system, availability of commercial real estate and most importantly the availability of a highly skilled workforce and a good quality of life for our employees," KamaGames CEO Danny Hammett explained. "We're excited about the growth opportunities ahead and we're so pleased to be doing this in Ireland."
The announcement of the funding was hosted by Google at its European headquarters in Dublin. In addition, the new hires brought on board will participate in Google's EMEA AppHub, which aims to provide up-and-coming developers in the region a place to network and collaborate.
"Today's announcement that KamaGames, an exciting and rapidly growing app developer, have committed to growing their workforce in Dublin is another great boost for the tech sector in the city," Minister for Jobs Mr. Richard Bruton said. "The fact that this announcement has come with support from a collaboration with Google shows the immense value of developing a technology cluster in Ireland."
