I Expect You To Die reaches $3 million in revenue

VR escape room game meets milestone one year after reaching $1 million

Despite VR successes in the past few years, million dollar milestones for games in the medium are still on the rarer side. But Schell Games has something to celebrate, as its VR escape room I Expect You To Die has made $3 million in revenue since its 2016 launch.

That revenue is totaled across all platforms: Steam, PSVR, Oculus Rift, and Windows and occurs almost exactly a year after the game reached the $1 million milestone.

Since last year, Schell Game has ported I Expect You To Die to Windows mixed reality headsets as well, and has supported the game with an additional major update.

"The team put a lot of heart and hard work into I Expect You To Die and the success we've achieved definitely shows our passion for this project," said CEO Jesse Schell. "With support from fans, gamers, and techies who have played I Expect You to Die, we've proved that virtual reality can become a mainstream platform and its future is looking incredibly bright."
