HBO's The Last of Us gets greenlight for second season

The confirmation came days before the program aired its third episode

The Last of Us TV show has been confirmed for a second season.

This past Friday, the news was shared on the HBO program's official Twitter account.

Currently, the adaptation of the 2013 PlayStation 3 title has aired three episodes of its first season.

When the drama debuted, it pulled in 4.7 million US viewers and became the second-largest HBO viewing premiere in the last 13 years.

UK Boxed sales for the game jumped to 238% after the program's launch.
