Guerrilla founders form Vanguard Entertainment

de Ronde and Mol back together for online games projects

Ex-Guerrilla Games founders Martin de Ronde and Michiel Mol have formed a new company, Vanguard Entertainment Group.

The company is a merger of the duo's production company Karami and W! Games, developer of the PSN and XBLA title Greed Corp.

"Over the past few years, we have been closely following the rapid rise of social network games, browser based games and new online business models associated with these platforms," said de Ronde, chief commercial officer of Vanguard.

"We feel both these market segments will be rapidly converging over the coming years, rather than competing with each other, and with Vanguard we want to be at the forefront of this development.

"It will be Vanguard's mission to capitalise on the need for new types of online content on consoles, which it will be doing with games based on original IP."

The company has a number of original products in the works, with the first to be announced shortly.

de Ronde and Mol sold Guerrilla Games to Sony in 2005. de Ronde has since been working as president of non-profit games organisation OneBigGame, while Mol co-founded the ForceIndia Formula One team.
