God of War Ragnarok retained its No.1 spot in the first UK physical charts of 2023.

Sony Santa Monica's hit had ended 2022 on top, and is starting the new year strongly, despite sales being down 36% week-on-week.

Most of the top ten was unchanged, with FIFA 23 maintaining its second spot despite sales decreasing 49%.

It was a very quiet week at retail, without any new release, so physical unit sales across the market were down 47% week-on-week, having already dropped 52% the week before.

In 2022, UK games sales dropped 6% overall and console sales plunged 29%. You can read more in our UK Annual Report on this page.
