GCDC: InfoSpace announces new Tomb Raider title

EU distribution deal with Eidos extended for multiple titles

Mobile games and entertainment publisher InfoSpace has chosen the Leipzig Games Convention to announce the signing of a new extended European distribution deal with Eidos, beginning with new mobile exclusive title, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Puzzle Paradox.

The latest in the globally successful Tomb Raider franchise will be the fourth title to be developed for Eidos by InfoSpace, following the creation of a three part series in 2002 featuring Quest of Cinnabar, The Elixir of Life and The Osiris Codex.

Simon Protheroe, Eidos' director of new media and IT, commented: "We have extended the scope of our partnership with InfoSpace, as the company has both the in-house development talent to bring world-class mobile gaming titles to market and the infrastructure and reach to help us distribute to carriers internationally.

"This new title 'Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Puzzle Paradox' will open up Lara's universe to thousands of mobile gamers on both sides of the Atlantic," he added.

In addition to the new Tomb Raider title, InfoSpace has secured an international extension to its existing distribution relationship in the US, and will distribute a range of Eidos Interactive titles to operators in selected regions across Europe.

European distribution includes Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legends, Hitman: New York, Hitman: Las Vegas, Championship Manager and InfoSpace-developed Thief: Deadly Shadows: Episodes 1 and 2.

"This latest deal cements our position as an international partner with Eidos Interactive and reinforces our position as a leader in mobile gaming," added John Chasey, VP of global games, European technology and operations for InfoSpace.
