Games London launches Pitch Bootcamp training event for developers

Mayor of London says city is a 'real melting pot of cutting edge talent'

This month, Games London is taking developers through a two-day training course in an effort to ensure they are 'market ready'.

The Pitch Bootcamp is designed to help 30 studio leaders in areas such as games financing, investor engagement and pitching skills.

The Bootcamp is funded by Creative Skillset's Skills Investment Fund and will take place between January 26th and January 27th at BAFTA's building in Piccadilly. The deadline for applications is January 9th and you can find out more here.

The Bootcamp will help prepare studios looking for funding during the upcoming London Games Festival, which will host the Games Finance Market between April 4th and April 6th (more details here).

London Games Festival kicks off on March 30th, beginning with EGX Rezzed.

It is all part of the Games London programme, which aims to attract £35m in investment to London games companies and create nearly 300 jobs over three years.

"London is home to more than 500 games companies, making our city a real melting pot of cutting edge talent, creativity and innovation," said London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

"The Games Finance Market gives global investors a first-hand glimpse of what our games industry can offer, connecting talent with the investment it needs to flourish. I'm delighted to support training initiatives like Games London's Pitch Bootcamp, which is helping companies take their businesses to the next level, creating jobs and boosting London's reputation as a world leader for technology."
