Tournament hosting specialist launches community website.

London, UK – GamersUniverse today announced the launch of its competitive gaming site., which specialises in hosting games tournaments including the GamersCup, provides a wide range of services, including news, previews, reviews, gamers TV, files and gaming artwork, over 1,500 flash games, a PDF e-magazine, demos, movies, social networking and a games-on-demand service.

GamersUniverse's services range from hosting tournaments for publishers, stress-testing alphas of multiplayer games on its private servers for developers, or just simply letting gamers find similar players to frag through its extensive community site. An experienced team specialises in running online tournaments and competitions across Europe, including the GamersCup, which comprises three pan-European championships a year. These are hosted on their private servers, which can support thousands of gamers at once.

Tying in with the social-networking revolution, GamersUniverse also has its own community area, ranging from simple forums to chat rooms, and will soon feature built-in user blogging, user file-sharing and networking elements. Gamers also have access to hundreds of ex-retail games at bargain-basement monthly subscription prices, through a games-on-demand service.

GamersUniverse also hosts an international community of journalists, with writers sourced from Athens to Warsaw to London, producing news, previews, and reviews of the latest games in multiple languages. Beyond the website content, GamersUniverse also produces a PDF magazine, which features longer, more in-depth coverage of current gaming issues and gaming lifestyle.

To celebrate its launch, GamersUniverse will be sponsoring the MCV Awards, the gaming industry’s premier gaming honours. “The awards have a real energy about them,” said Kostas Kimbouris, CEO of GamersUniverse “It's a perfect place to introduce the site, because GamersUniverse is all about two things: a passion for games and a home for the truly competitive, and the MCV Awards are nothing if not competitive. If you're at the awards come and have a drink with us before dinner and let us show our site off.”
