Gameloft Announces the Creation of a Development Studio in Quebec

Established in 16 countries, the company has now passed the 1,000 employee mark

PARIS, FRANCE - April 11, 2005 - Gameloft, a top developer and publisher of video games for mobile phones, announced today that it will be opening a new development studio in Quebec City, five years after the opening of its studio in Montreal. This new investment is in keeping with the company's strategy, which is based on four key ideas:

To encourage an environment that promotes the creation and development of a complete line of high-quality games. Since mobile phones are not compatible with each other, it is also necessary to adapt games for all phones available globally, in all the world's main languages. Gameloft studios employ 940 people internally, and each game is released in 700 different versions.

To create a catalog of high quality games that is diverse enough to satisfy the varied tastes of the billion consumers who, within the next few years, will all have mobile phones equipped with Java or Brew. Gameloft games cover all genres, and their quality has been proven through excellent reviews in the press and by awards won all over the world. Most recently, Gameloft won four Mobies at CTIA 2005 in New Orleans. Gameloft is also on the cutting edge of technology with a range of 3D games for the newest mobile phones.

To create and license the best brands in association with the company's products: the quality of Gameloft's games allow it to create its own brands (Asphalt Urban GT, New York Nights), and to be the choice partner for other prestigious brands such as Ubisoft (Tom Clancy's Splinter CellTM, Prince of Persia®), large entertainment companies (Universal, Paramount Pictures, Marathon) or professional athletes (Vijay Singh, Derek Jeter).

To make games available all over the world: Gameloft has the leading distribution network for mobile games, and makes its games available through 130 telecom operators and 150 affiliates, covering 65 countries on 5 continents.

Gameloft's revenues increased by 128% between 2003 and 2004, and its operating results have doubled. In the fourth trimester of 2004, Gameloft became the leader in the market.

"The creation of a studio in Quebec City reflects the dynamism of the company, and the strategic importance it accords to the women and men who create and develop its games" said Stéphane Mouchel-Vichard, general manager of Gameloft Canada. "Gameloft is investing in Canada today to develop artists, programmers and game designers who will create the popular mobile games of the future, reaching a billion potential consumers in the world."

This announcement was made in the presence of Mr. Michel Després, Minister of Transport and minister responsible for the Greater Quebec City region, Jean Paul L'Allier, mayor of Quebec City, Martin Tremblay, the General Manager of Ubisoft Canada, and Stéphane Mouchel-Vichard.
