September 9th 2008 -  Nottingham, UK. -  GameCity, the UK's leading brand in independent videogame festivals, and Guinness World Records today announce your chance to claim that record you really know should be yours.

Guinness World Records and GameCity are inviting you to submit ideas for videogame records you think you can conquer, and Guinness World Records experts will select ten to adjudicate at this year's GameCity. This is your opportunity to make gaming history LIVE on the GameCity big screen in front of hordes of adoring fans, AND those all-important official Guinness World Records adjudicators.

Reckon you're the fastest in the world at Professor Kawashima's arithmetic challenge? Think you could pull off the fastest speed-run of The Silent Cartographer? Want to show the world you can clear Rock Band's Run To The Hills on expert - blindfolded?

This is your big chance to prove you're the best there is. Current games, old games, existing records, new challenges - it's all up for grabs this year at GameCity.

It's easy to enter. Simply email the gaming record you'd like to attempt to records@gamecity.org or register online at www.gamecity.org/gwr and we'll take care of the rest. If you are lucky enough to be selected as one of the world record attempts, you won't be alone. This year's festival is proud to launch the latest title from TT Games and Warner Bros Interactive Entertaindent: Guinness World Records: the Videogame.  This is the first time the crazy world of record breaking has been bought to your living room.  To celebrate, GameCity will be tackling a few spectacular records of its own. Involving hundreds of people, a unique musical soundtrack, a great deal of curry and the support of the local authorities, it's not quite time yet to announce the details of these extraordinary events, but head on over to www.gamecity.org to register for updates.

With your help, this truly is going to be one of greatest festivals on record.
