Drag-and-drop development tool hits version 8.0, promising more speed and new features.

December 23rd 2009 - LONDON – More than 20,000 Game Developers and fans of the world’s most widely used Game Development Engine, Game Maker have celebrated the launch of the latest version by downloading it from the website www.yoyogames.com in the first 24 hours since launch.

Game Maker allows people without any prior programming experience to create real, working video games in the shortest possible time. The drag and drop user interface makes it easy for novices to quickly understand the anatomy of a real game and quickly create their own projects.

Game Maker is more than just a tool for novices with several developers having successfully sold their games to major casual games publishers.

The latest version of Game Maker includes :-

• Must faster code execution and a completely rewritten code editor.

• Support for .png images with transparency. A large collection of over 500 high-quality sprites is included.

• A new image editor with many features that allows for the easy creation of sprites and backgrounds.

• Support for collaborate with multiple people working on games.

• Ability to display web pages and html documents in games.
