Game Frontier, Organisers Of UK Electronic Sports World Cup Sign Deal With Propeller TV For UK Finals
Game Frontier, the UK licensee of this summer's Electronic
Sports World Cup (http://www.eswc.co.uk), has
signed a deal with Propeller TV (on SKY channel 195) to
create content for the professional gaming world's annual
highpoint. The association will see Propeller TV create
dedicated programming for the UK finals - which are to be
staged in early June - and help pre-promote the event's
regional heats and finals through trails and placement
through its website (http://www.propellertv.co.uk).
Jaffer Mir, Managing director of Game Frontier believes that
this deal will provide a significant platform to help further
cement electronic sports as a new cultural phenomenon:
"Having a dedicated television programme on the UK finals of
the ESWC is going to allow us to really get under the skin of
this emerging new sport - from delivering profiles on the
game's colourful characters to providing TV exposure for our
growing portfolio of partners and sponsors. It's going to
take the sport on to new levels of interest and
exposure".
Propeller TV CEO Simon Couth also feels that one of the key
challenges is to bring the sport to life for the viewing
