Florence and Inside among the winners of Apple's Design Awards

Other games honoured at WWDC were Alto's Odyssey, Oddmar and Frost

Mountains' Florence and Playdead's Inside were among five winners of Apple's annual Design Awards at WWDC yesterday.

The other games included in the multidisciplinary awards were Snowman's eagerly awaited sequel Alto's Odyssey; Oddmar, an action-adventure platformer from Turkish studio Mobge; and Frost, a puzzle game from Austrian studio Kunabi Brother, which won a Design Award for its debut title, Blek.

The Design Awards are distinct from those handed out by the App Store's editors at the end of each year. In 2017, the games that received that honour included Hidden Folks, The Witness and Old Man's Journey.

Broken Rules' Old Man's Journey was also among the winners at the Design Awards in 2017. The other games were Splitter Critters, Blackbox, Mushroom 11 and Severed.
