REV web portal launched offering developers a streamlined facial animation process for as little as $5 USD per second.

PRIEST RIVER, IDAHO – January 12, 2010 – FacePro today announces a streamlined new production process: using Web technology and a simplified workflow, FacePro now produces Next-Gen facial animation in a variety of popular 3D file formats, for prices as low as $5.00 USD per second.

“This really opens the door for all kinds of game developers,” says company President Rod Stafford. “Working on large projects with hundreds or thousands of spoken phrases – and the “American Idol®” titles with several hundred minutes of singing animation – we needed a simple, transparent method of collaborating with our customers.”

Enter REV , a secure Web portal where game developers log in to review, revise, and approve animations. “Working with REV is a big step forward,” says Stafford. “Facial animation is complex by nature, so it tends to be expensive. REV is simple by nature, and this balancing effect permits us to offer our customers a much lower price point.”

REV is accompanied by a suite of free Facial Bone Rigs and a Facial Skinning tutorial, to help game developers prepare their character assets. Stafford says, “Our goal has been to redefine the entry point for Next-Gen facial animation, and thanks to REV I think we’ve accomplished that.”
