Facebook launches Every Phone app

Offering 90 day free data plan with 20 different carriers

The new Facebook Every Phone app launched yesterday, and allows over 2,500 models of Java enabled phone access to Facebook features like photos and messages.

The social network also announced users would get 90 days of free data access with selected carriers, including the Three network in the UK. The app has been designed to use less data than other similar Java products.

The Facebook for Every Phone app can be found on various app stores like GetJar, Appia, and Mobile Weaver, or downloaded directly from the official site.

"Phones are inherently social devices, and the industry is just beginning to discover what's possible here," Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg said at an HTC launch event earlier this year.

"In other industries like games, what we’ve found is that the companies that build the best social products are the one’s that are just willing to jump in and re-think what they are making to be social from the ground up."
