Erik Wolpaw leaves Valve

Writer who worked on Portal series, Half-Life 2 Episodes has confirmed departure from company

Erik Wolpaw is no longer with Valve. After more than a decade with the company, the writer updated his Facebook page this morning to say he left his position there.

Wolpaw joined Valve in 2004, and worked on a number of the company's games since then, including the Portal series, the Left 4 Dead series, and Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two. Prior to his time at Valve, Wolpaw co-created gaming site Old Man Murray and served as a writer at Double Fine Productions on Psychonauts.

There was no indication given as to what Wolpaw would do next, but he had already been announced as a story and dialog collaborator with Double Fine on the forthcoming Psychonauts 2.
