EA to release three titles for Google handset

Mobile versions of Tetris, Bejeweled and Monopoly to see release on Android powered phones

EA has announced the upcoming release of three games for the T-Mobile G1, the first phone powered by Google's mobile platform, Android.

Tetris is available immediately, and will be followed by the release of Bejeweled and Monopoly Here & Now Edition in November.

"Android is another exciting new platform to offer customers great games with enhancements like touch and tilt capabilities," said Adam Sussman, VP publishing Americas and Asia for EA Mobile.

"Tetris, Bejeweled, and Monopoly Here & Now Edition are the first titles we're launching on the platform, with more games in development."

EA has also been focusing on developing titles for Apple's iPhone having confirmed it was interested in the device last year.

This comes as Google makes further headway into the videogame space, having launched its virtual world, Lively, acquired the in-game advertiser Adscape Media, and announced plans to sell games through YouTube.
