EA shuts down Blueprint division

Publisher also apparently working on Boom Blox sequel

Electronic Arts has apparently closed the doors on the supposedly secret internal Blueprint division in the business cuts that were announced recently.

Although nothing much was said on the record about the division, it was originally initiated to work on new intellectual property and was headed up by Neil Young - but when Young left in June this year to head up his own company an internal email from EA Games president Frank Gibeau handed control over to Louis Castle.

But now, just days after the closure of EA Casual, the division has been shut down, with former projects moving over to EALA, reports Variety.

Additionally its being reported that a sequel to the Steven Spielberg-inspired Boom Blox is in development for the Wii, with production based in LA, but drafting in people from all over the world.

EA's share price closed yesterday down 4.4 per cent at USD 18.45.
