Guy "Dr Disrespect" Beahm offers statement after E3 bathroom filming fiasco
Beahm says "laws/repercussions of filming in the bathroom" simply didn't occur to him
Guy Beahm, the man behind controversial streamer Dr Disrespect, has issued a statement following his ejection from E3 for filming in the men's bathrooms.
The illegal act saw his E3 badge revoked and Twitch issuing a two-week ban on his streaming account.
However, since returning to the platform last week, Beahm has taken the rare move of breaking character to speak about what happened.
In a TwitLonger post on his dormant personal Twitter account, Beahm offered his justifications for what happened, coupled with a loose apology.
Beahm, who was live streaming his adventures as Dr Disrespect at the expo, said they hadn't considered the "laws/repercussions of filming in the bathroom" because it "honestly wasn't in our mind frame at the time."
"We were sort of 'all in' with the [Dr Disrespect] livestream experience and capturing the E3 event through the character," said Beahm. "We were so into the E3 IRL journey that we became a little blind in what's ok and what's not ok.
"We had no ill intentions and I feel that was pretty obvious if you watched the entire thing. We wanted to capture an adventure, unfortunately we took that adventure into the wrongs areas unaware of the legalities surrounding it. On behalf of the Dr Disrespect brand, I apologize for this."
