Creative Assembly working on London Olympics game

Studio's Australian outfit working on new sports title

The Creative Assembly's Australian studio is working on the official videogame of the London 2012 Olympics.

That's according to our sister site Eurogamer.net, which claims a source close to the studio has confirmed the project, with a release due in time for the Games.

At E3 last year, Sega's Gary Dunn – who's responsible for internal and external development in Europe and other PAL regions – admitted that it would be a honour to be involved in an official Olympic game.

"Personally, I would absolutely love to make a game based on the 2012 Olympics," he told GamesIndustry.biz.

"It would be a wonderful opportunity for a game developer in the the UK to make an Olympics game. I would love that opportunity to get involved in that on next-gen. But we'll have to wait and see, as a British game developer that would be fantastic."

Sega has produced licensed Olympics titles for a number of years, including Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and the Mario & Sonic titles.
