Conquest! Medieval Realms

New demo and update on offer for Slitherine's puzzly wargame.

For Immediate Release

Staten Island, NY, October 8th, 2009 – Matrix Games ( www.matrixgames.com) and Slitherine Strategies ( www.slitherine.com) are pleased to announce that a new playable demo and a new comprehensive 1.8 update are now available for Conquest! Medieval Realms. The new update fixes a rare crash bug, addresses an issue with selecting territories, and brings a number of other minor fixes.

In addition, the new demo includes all of the improvements that come with the latest update and adds two additional scenarios over and above what is already available from the older demo version. Overall, this new demo gives gamers a much more accurate picture of the addicting puzzle-style gameplay found in the new Matrix Games release of Conquest! Medieval Realms. Newcomers as well as customers who already tried the old demo should check out this new version!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Conquest! offers a unique ‘brain teasing’ style of play that combines pure strategy with a historical wargame setting. Anyone who enjoys wargames or puzzle games will find something to like in Conquest! Now that there is an expanded and improved demo, there’s no reason not to give the game a try!”

Conquest! Medieval Realms is a turn-based game that combines the pure strategic gameplay of Chess and the key principles of military strategy in a historical setting. The objective is to conquer up to 7 opposing AI or human players by defeating their armies and capturing their lands.

To gain supremacy, players will need to unite their spread out lands, build a roaring economy, and raise powerful armies to divide and conquer their enemies. Boost your income via markets and mines, upgrade your armies with stables and archery fields, or amass a large force, but sound strategy and careful thought will help you more than brute force.

Rows of castles and towers can help to stave off attacks while flanking maneuvers around mountains and terrain can surround and destroy foes. Tactics and long term strategy are essential to success as each battle will play out differently across an endless random map generator. For players looking to create their own tactical teasers, an easy-to-use map editor is also available for the creation of custom scenarios and campaigns.

This update is comprehensive and will bring any previous version to 1.8. Get more information on Conquest! Medieval Realms from its official product page.
