Capcom USA appoints Rob Dyer as COO

Former Sony and Zynga exec joins US arm of Japanese publisher

Capcom USA has appointed 25-year industry veteran Rob Dyer as its new chief operating officer.

Formerly an executive at Sony, Zynga, Eidos, and Crave Entertainment, Dyer's most recent position was as CEO and co-founder of licensed merchandising outlet Fan Kicks.

His new role with Capcom will see him reporting to CEO Kiichiro Urata; he will be responsible for all aspects of the company's publishing business in the US, including sales, marketing, and operations.

"Rob's strategic acumen, deep industry knowledge and established networks will play a vital role for Capcom's business goals," said Urata.

"He will help steer the success of our incredible portfolio of popular brands such as Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and more."

Dyer also founded and currently operates a video game consulting firm which provides competitive and big data analysis on mobile gaming, user acquisition, licensing, and social media platforms among other things.
