Blizzard offers new in-game pets in charity drive

50% of Moonkin Hatchling's sales go to Make-A-Wish Foundation

Blizzard has introduced more purchasable in-game pets to World of Warcraft. Half of the $10 virtual good's sales over December will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

A similar promotion last year saw Blizzard hand $1.1 million to the charity. Stated a spokesperson, "We're looking forward to making another big contribution to this great cause on behalf of the World of Warcraft community following the close of this year's promotion."

The Moonkin Hatchling is accompanied by L'il Ragnoros, whose profits go purely to Blizzard. World of Warcraft virtual goods sales have traditionally gone very well for the developer, with the Celestial Steed generating $3.5 million on its launch day alone in March.
