Avanquest/SEGA Europe deal

Further PC re-releases planned, including Phantasy Star Universe, SEGA Rally and Medieval 2: Total War.

6th June 2008

Avanquest Software Publishing, formerly known as GSP and one of the UK's leading consumer software and games publishers, has had its licensing deal with SEGA® Europe renewed and extended. The deal will renew the existing agreement that includes the ever popular Sonic Mega Collection and Rome: Total War, whilst also adding a number of new, exciting products to Avanquest’s SEGA range.

The new products, to include the recently released ‘Phantasy Star Universe,’ ‘Virtual Tennis,’ ‘SEGA Rally,’ and ‘Medieval 2: Total War,’ will complement and enhance Avanquest Software Publishing’s range of popular games titles. These new titles will be available in 2008 through major retail outlets including GAME, PC World, WH Smith, Amazon.co.uk, Play.com, Zawi, Morrisons and Tesco.

Karl Johns, Business Sector Manager from SEGA Europe commented, “We are delighted to extend our agreement with Avanquest Software, who has shown with their excellent sales efforts, how strong SEGA’s properties are beyond the full price and new release business. We look forward to working closely with them for the foreseeable future.”

Dave Brass, Managing Director of Avanquest Software said, “The SEGA titles enjoy strong recognition in the market and continue to be popular choices. The new titles are a welcome addition and will complement Avanquest’s gaming portfolio. We have demonstrated our ability and commitment to SEGA over the last two years through the highly successful Rome and Sonic ranges and we will extend our efforts unequivocally to the new titles.”

Avanquest Software Publishing currently publishes or distributes in the UK a portfolio of titles on behalf of some of the world's best known brands including Disney, BBC, SEGA and Dorling Kindersley through most major software retailers including GAME, PC World, WH Smith, Amazon.co.uk, Play.com, Zawi, Morrisons and Tesco. Avanquest Software Publishing has sold over 300,000 units of SEGA licensed titles since October 2006. Throughout this period, many of the titles have consistently appeared in the top 20 PC entertainment charts (budget price).
