Discovery launches Discovery Game Studios for licensing, distribution

Label has 12 games launched and more on the way in partnership with Ubisoft, Jam City, and others

Today, Discovery Inc has announced the launch of Discovery Game Studios, its own licensing and distribution studio for games based on its properties.

Discovery Game Studios debuts with 12 games already released, and about as many planned for release in the near future. These games are based on various TV series from Discovery's properties such as Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, HGTV, and TLC.

Past releases and in-development titles are all being made in partnerships with development studios including Ubisoft, Jam City, Playway Games, Code Horizon Studios, and Gamaga. Some of the titles already launched include Gold Rush: The Game, Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator, Red Crimes, Wheeler Deals, Street Outlaws, and Discovery #MINDBLOWN - Space Mechanics Simulator.

Other upcoming titles are based on series such as Deadliest Catch, Moonshiners, and Naked & Afraid.

Discovery Game Studios will serve as a center for the licensing of Discovery's properties for games across PC, mobile, and console platforms, with a focus both on international distribution.
