Boss Key co-founder Arjan Brussee joins Epic Games

Brussee has parted ways with fellow co-founder Cliff Bleszinski to work on an "exciting secret project"

On Twitter today, Boss Key co-founder Cliff Bleszinski revealed that fellow co-founder Arjan Brussee is leaving the games studio. Brussee, in a separate tweet confirmed the news and also revealed the reason why: he's going to work on an "exciting secret project" for Epic Games.

Bleszinski, who himself was an Epic Games designer (Gears of War), commented, "He is not only a brilliant person but also a dear friend and I wish him well in his future endeavors. Onward and upward - still makin' games here!"

Brussee was a co-founder of Guerilla Games and also spent a couple years as an executive producer at Electronic Arts. We've asked Epic about his new role at the Unreal Engine company. Brussee is rejoining the developer after more than two decades, since he spent time there in the mid-'90s as a programmer; he co-developed the Jazz Jackrabbit series, which Bleszinski had designed in his early days at Epic.

As for Boss Key, the company has had a rough time with a rocky launch for its shooter LawBreakers. Bleszinski and Brussee recently talked about the troubles they encountered with the game and how Boss Key intends to solve them. Brusse just won't be involved in that process now, however.
