I realise the way the chart is published is odd, but this is misleading: 3DS total is 40,276, making it easily first, even if the vita tv is included with the vita.

@Neil Yeah, great reminder. This happens all the time in our gaming press... misleading at best. I don't know how many times I read something extremely wrong (like Vita and PS4 beating 3DS in this instance). It is not just odd, it is plain wrong. I keep having to ignore the text in articles, and skip to the cold numbers for simple analysis like this.

Also maddening is the press just re-posting numbers and claims by hardware manufacturers without any context. I mean, if MS (for example) says their sales are beating PS4, you have to at least highlight the region they mention proeminently. Or else you are just playing PR proxy for misleading information.

I can't count how many times I read "Product X beats Product Y in first quarter" only to discover they were talking about US-only numbers, or even worse, talking about some "custom" region (encompassing only the countries that have better sales of those products).

To make matters worse, the Vita actually has 2 models yet they are not separated as the 2 3DS model are. This same situation was seen last generation whereupon the PSP had multiple iterations yet none were separated (except PSP Go) while ALL models of the DS were separated.
