5.3 million units of Dragon Quest IX shipped
DS title became series' biggest as it tipped milestone at end of December

Square-Enix has revealed that Dragon Quest IX had shipped 5.3 million copies worldwide as of the end of December, 2010.
That figure makes it the most successful title in the series so far, with the series as a whole having shipped over 57 million units.
In November, 2009, figures released by NPD, Enterbrain and Gfk Chart-Track indicated that the title had sold 3,925,000 copies worldwide in Q3, 2009 alone, making it that season's biggest global seller.
