2nd Indie Game Competition

Ten finalists announced, with $10,000 and a publishing contract at stake.

NEW YORK - November 10, 2009

2BeeGames, the premier community for independent games, has announced the ten finalists of their 2nd Indie Game Competition. The winner, as chosen by the players who vote and a panel of judges, will win $10,000 and have the opportunity to enter a publishing contract with Zoo Games to see their game published on consoles. Visit the newly redesigned 2BeeGames.com now to play the finalists’ game and vote for your favorites.

Hundreds of talented independent game developers spent the past three months creating their own games for submission to the 2Bee Competition. Over 120 games were entered into the contest but only ten have made the final cut today. The finalists’ games are now hosted on 2BeeGames.com for everyone to play, comment, judge, and vote for the games they want to see make it to consoles.

The ten finalists are:

Bullets of a Revolver – submitted by Diefox

Climb to the Top of the Castle – submitted by TwO Bros. Games

Cavemen Vs. Aliens – submitted by John Sear

Cochon’s Pursuit – submitted by Edouard Mercure

Daytraders of the Dead – submitted by Mat Groves/ John Denton

DriftMoon – submitted by Ville Mönkkönen

Kablooey! – submitted by Vertigo Games

In their first Indie Game Competition, 2BeeGames awarded $10,000 and a publishing contract to indie developer Cipher Prime for their unique light, sound and music-based puzzle game Auditorium. In a surprise move, the second place finisher and winner of the $5,000 community favorite prize, Storm by Terence Lee, was also offered a publishing deal. Both titles will make their way to several platforms in 2010 as the winning developers work with Zoo Games to port their projects.

“Our first competition yielded great entries and two incredible games that we could not pass up the opportunity to sign to publishing deals,” said Tony Tran, Founder and Community Manager of 2BeeGames. “This time around we’ve seen nearly double the interest and we are looking forward to finding out which finalist the world will declare the winner.”

Voting in the 2nd Indie Game Competition ends November 30th so visit 2BeeGames.com to have your voice determine the next great indie title. Votes are counted on a weekly basis and only the favorite games move on, so keep voting every week to keep your favorite game in the running.
