1m downloads in under a week for new Angry Birds

Rovio's latest tops App Store without Chillingo support

Rovio's Halloween edition of iPhone hit Angry Birds has seen over a million App Store downloads in just six days.

The new version topped the iOS charts without the assistance of sometime publisher Chillingo, which was last week bought by EA.

"We're delighted to see such fantastic reception for Angry Birds Halloween," said Rovio CEO Mikael Hed. "We intend to continue creating more and more quality products and updates, and keep exceeding the expectations of our fans worldwide."

The Finland-made title was announced just a week before launch, but hit number one on the US and UK App Store charts within 24 hours of release.
