128GB iPad goes on sale next week

$799 for twice the storage capacity of older models

Apple has announced that on February 5 a new 128GB iPad will go on sale, at $799 for Wi-Fi only, and $929 for Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.

"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it's clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," said senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Philip Schiller.

"With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."

Specific mention was made of the new device's advantages for users of the AutoCAD WS app, and those interested in multitrack recording and editing.
